ABOUT
Daniel Murphy was born in Adelaide, South Australia, in 1991. He grew up with an overflowing bookshelf and would often write short stories in lined notebooks just for fun.
English was his favourite subject at school. When he went to Flinders University to be a teacher, he often focused on writing projects, instead of his assignments.
For four years, Daniel wrote for Writer's Edit, an online literary magazine nominated by the Australian Writer's Centre for Best Australian Blogs in 2014. The blog was also listed in Positive Writer's Best Writing Blogs for 2017. Daniel published his final article in September 2017.
His posts range from simple book reviews to instructional pieces on how to master literary devices. Daniel's creative non-fiction piece 'Joining a Writer's Group' appeared in Kindling 2, the second of Writer's Edit's three anthologies.

Daniel had a number of published pieces on the now-defunct ABC Open. Some of his best stories included Twenty Hours, a five-hundred word rollercoaster retelling the story of his disastrous move from Murrayville to Port Augusta, and Snowball, a nineties flashback to one moment of courage at his last primary school disco.
Snappy Rag, the story of Daniel's first ever song dedication in front of a four-hundred strong crowd, was chosen to be produced for ABC Radio.
